“All Smiles” at Thatcham Charity

Thatcham based Charity Swings and Smiles, have received a welcome boost thanks to Wishing Others Well and Newbury based Touch Blue Telecom

Swings and Smiles offers support for disabled children and their families in a unique and accessible environment and have seen demand for their services boom over the past few years, with more than 100 children now registered for their services.

This success was creating a strain on the staffing resources as bookings for placements were being done manually, in order to ensure that all vital information was accurate and up to date. This additional workload meant that staff were unable to handle as many bookings as they’d like – but they had identified a solution.

FAMLY, is a web-based application designed for early-years education settings and could prove to be the answer Swings and Smiles were looking for. However, as FAMLY is designed for commercial businesses, it comes with a price-tag that the charity had not budgeted for. So, they approached Wishing Others Well to see if there was anything we could do to help.

Wishing Others Well began approaching our network of contacts to source a potential donor and began negotiating with FAMLY, to see if they would reduce costs for Registered Charities. It was refreshing to hear that the team at FAMLY had already begun work internally on making subscribing to their platform more accessible to non-profits and we were pleased to offer some of our insight into their planning.

We spoke with the team at Touch Blue about the amazing work that Swings and Smiles were doing just a short distance away from their Newbury Head Office and they were keen to help.

Jacob McCrindle, Operations Manager at Touch Blue explained: “Touch Blue has always been proactive in helping local good causes including sports clubs and charities. When Wishing Others Well approached us and explained the situation with Swings and Smiles, we were more than happy to help and we’re looking forward to working with them more in the future to ensure any charitable activity, delivers maximum impact.”

Hannah Waugh of Swings and Smiles said “In order to manage the increase in the needs of the children, we required a more effective way of making bookings, providing handovers to families and keeping a record of vital information such as medication administered. Thanks to Wishing Others Well and Touch Blue we now have access to FAMLY which delivers a more effective way to manage and share information, as we continue to grow this will be fantastic in supporting our staff.”

Head of UK Sales for FAMLY, Kim Ingeman was the driving force behind their involvement. “We don’t see services quite like Swings and Smiles very often, they provide such a vital service to their community and in such a beautiful way. We are so happy we could work together with Wishing Others Well to get Famly, our early childhood platform, implemented and make their day-to-day a little easier, they certainly deserve it!”
